Top 10 products for your bathroom desiged to make bathtime the best time of your day

Top 10 products for your bathroom desiged to make bathtime the best time of your day

One of my favorite times of the day is bathtime! As, we’ve grown older and life has gotten super hectic, bathtime is that precious hour of the day when we can fully indulge in self-care, and pamper ourselves. Whether that’s in the form of a bubble bath or a long warm shower! And having a beautifully designed bathroom with thoughtful designs will only amplify this special time of the day. These products can make a huge difference in our everyday bathroom experience. They not only help us carry out our personal and grooming activities even more easily, but they also help us take care of ourselves and our washrooms a little better. From a drop-dead gorgeous bathtub made using translucent resin to a cleverly designed dual-sided shower scrubber – these well-designed products are all you need to elevate your daily bathtime!

1. The Tandem Shower

Designed to attach directly to your existing showerhead, the Tandem Shower is an easy-to-install no-plumber-required shower accessory that distributes your shower into two distinct streams. Although perfect for couples, the Tandem Shower also makes a pretty compelling case for solo showers with a much more luxurious, immersive 360° shower experience (think Ross Geller in the tanning booth).

Why is it noteworthy?

The Tandem Shower comes with an adjustable design, allowing it to fit in most bathrooms. It connects directly to your existing showerhead’s water inlet, which effectively distributes the water supply between the two showerheads. A valve on the Tandem Shower then lets you effectively switch between either of the showerheads or run both simultaneously. It’s worth noting that the Tandem Shower was also designed keeping other considerations in mind – for starters, it comes with a flexible hose that lets you mount your Tandem with plenty of clearance, allowing for a second showerhead that’s much higher than your current one (especially useful for taller people).

What we like

  • The Tandem showerhead also comes mounted on a ball and socket joint, letting you angle-adjust your water flow as you would with the existing shower
  • The high-velocity setting in particular delivers nearly two times more force than standard showerheads

What we dislike

  • It’s an added installation, making it difficult for people living in rental apartments

2. Amore

British bathroom brand Lusso recently launched the Amore. What makes Amore so special? Probably the fact that it looks drop-dead gorgeous.

Why is it noteworthy?

Designed to make a dramatic and magnificent impression, the Amore is a freestanding bathtub made from translucent resin. Designed by the Lusso founder Wayne Spriggs, the choice of material for Amore was truly ingenious. It’s what imparts the bathtub with its truly unique and awe-spiring appearance.

What we like

  • It’s a far cry from Lusso’s usual bathtubs which are built using stone or marble

What we dislike

  • Space-consuming design, not suited for smaller washrooms

3. Vis-à-vis and Rendez-vous

I’ve realized that filling up your bathroom with thoughtful designs, only makes your time in it much more comfortable and smooth. And this collection of bathroom seating by Italian bathroom brand Agape strives to be exactly that! Designed by Marco Carini for Agape, the collection includes two seating designs created from recycled cork.

Why is it noteworthy?

The first design is called Vis-à-vis, and it is a light and sturdy stool that also doubles up as a tiny side table. The second design is Rendez-vous, and it’s a bench that serves as an extensive seating option for bathroom users. Both designs function as comfortable spots to sit and relax in the bathroom.

What we like

  • Crafted from recycled cork
  • The curving form resembles someone smiling

What we dislike

  • Not suited for bathrooms with a smaller footprint

4. The Bell Jar

This unique concept for a showerhead and bath spout is named after the book that inspired it. The Bell Jar is a showerhead with a hidden cable and a fixed adaptor that can turn it into a calmer and single water spout in case you want to take a bath instead of a shower.

Why is it noteworthy?

The designer says she was inspired by the allegory from the book about the human condition and the main character’s state of mind. The flow of the water that goes through the bell jar design depends on what you need: practicality (showering) or purification (bathing).

What we like

  • Very minimalist and feminine
  • Single design allows you to use it in 2 ways with ease

What we dislike

5. Angle

We could always do with a new and exciting wash basin since the regular ones can tend to get boring. This concept for a ceramic washbasin is called Angle. It provides a completely different look for a sink and is a far cry from the normal ones. But this isn’t just something decorative as the design is actually to make it easier for the water to go down the drain.

Why is it noteworthy?

The washbasin uses curved and triangular surfaces from the faucet to the basin itself. The drain is a tiny opening at the corner of the basin so all the water that comes out of the faucet will flow towards there without you having a visible drain. The V-shaped basin makes it easier to drain the water.

What we like

  • The V shape makes it easier for the water to drain

What we dislike

  • With the design boasting a very thin drain at the corner, there is a possibility of bigger particles and debris not going through.

6. The Shower Scrubber

Designed by Casamera, the Shower Scrubber features a unique dual-sided design, that lets you pick between the two sides – a softer side great for massaging, and an exfoliating side to get rid of all the dry skin! The Shower Scrubber comes with a radical new redesign, sporting a honeycomb pattern on one side, to open your skin pores, and a walnut-shell textured surface on the other side, for scrubbing off dead cells to leave your skin shining.

Why is it noteworthy?

Konjac sponges have been on the market for ages galore, and they’ve been designed and redesigned in quite a few forms, however, the Shower Scrubber unlocks its true potential with its design and various infusions. The large guitar-pick-shaped design comes with a honeycomb texture on one side, inspired by Casamera’s waffle-textured towels. The honeycomb texture helps gently massage and pamper the skin (especially around the face), open the pores, and more importantly, is incredibly effective at building up a lather. The other side, however, is a textural contrast, as the sponge comes with particles of walnut shells suspended within the surface, offering an exfoliating experience that’s great at removing dead skin on your body to reveal shining, supple, radiant skin underneath.

What we like

  • Dual sides to meet the different needs of your skin
  • Biodegradable

What we dislike

  • Given it’s single colour, its difficult to assign unique sponges to different people using the bath

7. The‘At the Same Time Body Dryer’

At the Same Time Dryer Concept Image

At the Same Time Dryer Concept Photos

The ‘At the Same Time Body Dryer’ is an attempt to make public bath facilities more convenient, efficient, and fast. Speedy bathing and drying are possible with this concept body dryer as more can dry off at the same time.

Why is it noteworthy?

The name alone tells us its unique selling point. The round square shape of the dryer allows four persons to stand and be dried off. The four parts are separated by an opaque transition that offers privacy. They may be facing each other but their private parts are still covered. The footrest on the whole features concentric circles that provide a softer surface for the feet. The footrest is divided into four equal parts and each part can be removed for cleaning. The water doesn’t stay on the footrest as it drips.

What we like

What we dislike

  • While public bathing is popular in the east, not everyone will feel comfortable standing so close to dry off

8. The Smart Shower

Designer Natasha Jadhav decided to create a ‘Smart Shower’. This shower is truly smart, interactive, and not to mention aesthetically pleasing too! Jadhav struck the perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality with this design. Jadhav’s smart shower consists of the actual shower on the ceiling of the bathroom, a sleek white console that holds panels, and a hand shower, as well as a pressure-sensitive panel on the floor.

Why is it noteworthy?

Did you know that around 2.5 gallons of water are wasted at home while taking a shower? Imagine the amount of water wasted after an entire month or year of showering. Tremendous, and quite alarming! Now, showering isn’t something we can particularly avoid, hence designer Natasha Jadhav created a ‘Smart Shower’.

What we like

  • Pressure-sensitive floor panel that turns off the water once you’re done showering
  • Intuitive controls

What we dislike

  • The shower automatically switches off after five minutes of zero activity – the waiting period could be shorter

9. The PURE 2-in-1 Electric Oral Care Kit

PURE 2-in-1 Oral Care Kit Details

This Dyson-inspired oral care essential system is promised to have long-lasting durability. It doesn’t just look like something Dyson would introduce in terms of colors and aesthetics; it also practices the same sustainability principle. It’s an electric toothbrush and water flosser in one.

Why is it noteworthy?

Like any Dyson product, the PURE 2-in-1 Electric Oral Care Kit offers innovation, reliability, and functionality. It is a creative system that saves space and allows more straightforward operation. You can use it either as a toothbrush or a water flosser when you need to deep clean your mouth. Just change the head module if you want to use the water flosser mode. There is a built-in airflow fan that can keep the brush head clean. It also prevents moisture so you can be confident your toothbrush is not contaminated.

What we like

  • It comes with a built-in water container for the water flosser
  • The brushes and the handles are stored inside to keep your bathroom clutter-free

What we dislike

10. The Tiles Weight Scale

It takes a keen eye to be able to question the design of products we take for granted. Why are certain products like weighing scales designed the way they are? Given that they’re just literally a platform to stand on, why can’t they look more in tune with their surroundings? Designer Sije Chen found himself questioning that logic, which led to the design brief behind the Tiles Weight Scale. Simply put, the bathroom scale looks literally bathroom-inspired. With a glossy, tiled design, the product fits perfectly into the contemporary bathroom, looking more like functional decor than an appliance. Rather cool, no?

Why is it noteworthy?

A finalist at the Spark Awards last year, the Tiles Weight Scale looks like a panel of your quintessential ceramic bathroom tiles. They aren’t made from ceramic, which means they aren’t slippery, and the white panel has an LED display that shines through the material, activating the moment you stand on it. That way, it serves its purpose wonderfully when it needs to, and blends right into the bathroom’s decor when not in use!

What we like

  • Perfectly blends into your bathroom
  • Non-slippery

What we dislike

  • Has more of an aesthetic purpose, than a functional one

Home Office Makeover: 3 Designers Step Up to the Challenge

Home Office Makeover: 3 Designers Step Up to the Challenge

He was also drawn to the creamy McGee & Co. Elton chair because it does not predictably expose four legs without the need of remaining a “fussy” chair. “I loved that it was playing off a vintage moment, the chair wraps you up in itself,” he continues. The cloudlike chair also operates with the lighter linen material of the Pottery Barn curtains that bestow just the right amount of texture with no going “glammy.” The Persian-influenced rug, also by McGee & Co., ties the walnut-coloured canned desk to the rest of the interiors. “I wanted you to have depth in the room,” he suggests. “I never want it to be matchy-matchy, but all the pieces require to be cousins of the identical spouse and children, they need to have a identical aesthetic.”

By tuning into the all-natural earth without having getting extremely clear about it, Welch stepped it up in the add-ons division. In addition to the snake lamp, he introduced in things like the reptilian Stalk gold platter from CB2 (the suitable resolution for my mail). Jewel-toned Agate bookends from West Elm serve as the best eye-sweet for the developed-in book shelf. The Visual Convenience & Co. bubble chandelier, with ripples in the baubles, mitigates the daring blue on the walls.

“Accessories are often crucial when you are designing the room,” Welch adds. “You want things that are surprising, no matter whether neutral or colourful, these objects should be believed provoking. You can design a gorgeous dwelling, but without having equipment it will tumble flat.”

My dwelling office makeover takeaway

Armed with inspiration galore, the area of my very own is ultimately using shape. McClain, Jane, and Welch all tapped into my aspirational style and design narrative: Bold, but grounded, hues to express a significant, qualified tone which is then subdued with playful facts like animal-themed add-ons. In this article is how I approach to recreate a variation of this skilled zootopia that is my property office.

Go daring on the walls

Hague Blue No. 30 Contemporary Emulsion paint, 1 gallon

Even though drawn to rich colours, I was anxious to paint the full office environment, but observing how equally McClain and Welch leaned into the dusty blue gives me self esteem. I am notably drawn to Farrow & Ball Hague Blue No. 30 as it has a lighter undertone and functions as a neutral, not one thing I experienced regarded as right before.

Enjoy with a whimsical rug

Iris Apfel Flutterby Multicolor Rug, 5×7

I loved how McClain place up the exotic animal menagerie wallpaper on the ceiling, but with a coved ceiling, I am a bit nervous for the Diy. Alternatively, the fantastic compromise: an insect menagerie rug from the new Iris Apfel selection for Ruggable that will take me a few minutes to roll out and deal with my considerably less-than-stellar ground. The border works splendidly with the Hauge Blue paint, the neutral qualifications carry in light, and I really like how the butterflies and the dragonflies include pops of coral to liven up the space.

Embrace texture

Many thanks to Jane’s insight, I notice that bringing in a compact lounge chair for visitors can make the residence place of work much more relaxed. I am opting for a curvy 3-legged Everse chair with textured velvet upholstery to add visual curiosity and intertwine the browns in the rug with the walnut desk.

Have pleasurable with equipment

Adding in metallic factors (with discussion-worthy structure) improves the office environment with just the ideal volume of glam and interest. The crocodilian platter will work as the excellent spot to store my cellular phone and mail, and the snake desk lamp can make me feel that its a design preference Cleopatra would make, must she require to decorate her desk.

Sprinkle in art

Citrus Grove Art Print, 11 x 14 with Custom made Antique Gold Frame

I fell in love with the navy Rifle Paper Co., Citrus Grove peel-and-stick wallpaper and required to paste it into the wall panels. But on 2nd though, it could possibly be as well much when paired with the Iris Apfel Flutterby rug. As an alternative, I am opting for a smaller dose of the pattern with this framed art print to remind me of my times in Florida.

When Ga Phillips was dreaming up a kitchen for her new property, she quickly realized what she didn’t want.

“I redid our kitchen two or three decades in the past,” she states. “It was beautiful, but I did it all in white. For this new kitchen, I selected the colour palette. I needed warm tones and a large amount of contrast and just went from there.”

She and her husband, Bob, labored with Costa Homebuilders in Elizabeth Borough to design and style their sleek-and-modern-day place in Peters, which judges named Finest New Kitchen area this calendar year.

The modern day place functions chocolate-brown cupboards flanked by a quartzite backsplash and countertop, chrome fixtures, stainless-steel appliances and a 10-foot-by-4.5-foot, quartzite-and-wood island.

Placing the design aside is the summary chrome light fixture that floats higher than the kitchen island.

“People are fearful of lights,” Phillips suggests. “I view the light fixture as the earrings on best of a beautiful outfit that is the first thing your eyes are drawn to. The trick is to get the scale appropriate. I’ve seen so several folks with lovely kitchens and they have this rinky-dink, out-of-area light. I feel it cheapens the house.

“I wished anything clean up and modern but not occupied. I think we bought there.”

Our Greatest of Style judges agree.

“I believed the wooden tones included a whole lot of heat to the composition,” claims choose Stephanie Schill Hayden, an architect at Schill Architecture in Cleveland.

“I believe this is clean and basic but even now a truly sturdy, effectively-intended kitchen,” provides decide Katie Savakis, a task designer at Vocon, which has workplaces in New York City and Cleveland.

Anthony Ferrare, sales supervisor with Costa Homebuilders, notes the enterprise worked carefully with their customers to meet their requires.

“Their kitchen is seamlessly integrated concerning the entry from the garage and rolls into the good area,” he suggests. “It genuinely is the central hub of the property, the heart.”

Costa also partnered with Canonsburg General Woodcrafting to locate Phillips’ preferred shade of brown for the cupboards.

“The wooden is essentially cherry, but we experienced them sealed with the true colour I required so they aren’t pulling the red out,” Phillips explains.

Ferrare notes the property was built for a family members with slicing-edge taste. “They experienced a vision and came to us, and we assisted them make it materialize,” he suggests.

When planning her new household with Costa, Phillips states she budgeted extra for the kitchen to add custom characteristics these types of as a designed-in Bosch coffee maker, an underneath-the-counter ice maker and a Sub-Zero beverage cooler positioned near the back again doorway for straightforward obtain when entertaining.

“They authorized us to be as associated as we required to be,” she says.

5 Ways To Get The Luxe Look On A Budget

5 Ways To Get The Luxe Look On A Budget
luxury bathroom

House Beautiful/Mark Scott

There’s nothing quite like coming home from work, lighting some spa-scented candles and having a long, hot soak in the bath. Your bathroom should be your own spa-like sanctuary: somewhere you can retreat to at the end of the day and switch off from the world. That’s why it’s crucial to create a bathroom space that feels indulgent and luxurious to you.

‘A luxurious bathroom, that is both indulgent and relaxing, can do wonders for our physical and mental wellbeing,’ Matthew Currington, Technical Director at The Lighting Superstore, says. ‘But this doesn’t always mean having a minimalist bathroom or having to install the latest state-of-the-art technology.’

Having a luxurious bathroom should be an option for everyone, regardless of your style or how much money you’re willing to spend. That’s why we’ve come up with five smart ways to incorporate luxury into your bathroom without breaking the bank.

1. Upgrade your accessories

Creating a luxurious bathroom space doesn’t mean you have to rip it out and start again. Start by considering your bathroom accessory choices and looking at any small fixtures you can upgrade. Focus on adding accessories that look high end but won’t cost a fortune, such as gorgeous gold effect toothbrush holders and soap dishes.

Switching up fixtures such as your shower head or bathroom taps could be all it takes to improve the overall look and feel of your bathroom. ‘Switching out an old shower head for a more luxurious rainfall option is a great way to turn the mundane act of showering into a relaxing, spa-like experience,’ Matthew explains.

However, upgrading fixtures such as shower heads isn’t an option for everyone. Matthew continues: ‘If you don’t want to spend a fortune, focus on upgrading taps, mirrors and small accessories. Pay attention to the details of your bathroom, such as high-quality towels, a plush bath mat, and decorative accents.’

2. Set the mood with ambient lighting

When designing a bath spa that oozes luxury appeal, you’ll want to look at your current lighting options and what they do for the room. Matthew advises, ‘Stark overhead lighting can often have the opposite of a soothing effect. While it’s practical for detail-oriented activities like shaving, it’s not ideal for creating a calming environment.

‘For a relatively small but impactful upgrade, consider adding additional light sources such as recessed lighting, wall sconces, or pendant lights to create a layered effect which allows you to change the lighting depending on your needs.’

A cost-effective choice that blends practicality and luxury is strip lighting underneath a bathroom vanity mirror. It adds much-needed light when doing tasks such as putting on makeup, as well as a beautiful, luxurious glow in your bathroom.

If your bathroom candles aren’t providing enough ambient light, consider installing dimmer switches. It provides greater control over the intensity of your bathroom lighting, which can be particularly useful for creating a relaxing atmosphere.

      3. Focus on the materials

Materials are a common part of design that people overlook when making changes to their bathroom. People often focus on sanitaryware first, leaving materials for areas like bathroom tiles and worktops as an afterthought. When designing your bathroom, weigh up which materials will add a luxury aesthetic without taking costs too high.

          luxury bathroom inspiration

‘Adding materials like marble, travertine and solid wood are great ways to elevate the space but can be out of reach if your budget doesn’t stretch that far. Luckily, nowadays, you can find more affordable alternatives like marble or wood-effect tiles or countertops that look the same as the real deal but without the hefty price tag,’ Matthew explains.

Invest in built-in wood cabinetry to help minimise clutter and create the illusion of a bigger space. ‘Or, incorporate a niche or create a purpose-built pocket for your on-display products,’ Matthew suggests.

When it comes to the shower, replace a standard plastic shower curtain with a more luxurious-looking design, or replace it with a glass shower screen for a sleeker finish.

          4. Make a statement

If your budget allows, replacing even just one of your core bathroom furniture pieces can elevate the whole room. Bath tubs are often seen as the focal point of a bathroom, so opting for a new freestanding bath could be an excellent long-term investment to upgrade the space and give it that luxury feel.

              luxe bathroom

If replacing bathroom furniture isn’t within your budget, Matthew suggests making smaller changes with wallpaper and framed wall art. ‘Jewel-toned wallpaper is great for making the space feel opulent or choose something that is light and textured for a more elegant feel,’ he says.

Another way to make a statement, and merge function with design, is to opt for a heated towel rail or even roman blinds – it’ll make the space feel luxurious while still fulfilling a purpose.

              5. Finish with a spring clean

Minimalism and luxury are two trends that go hand in hand when it comes to bathrooms. One of the easiest (and cheapest) ways to emulate a luxurious atmosphere is by having a clean and tidy bathroom. Consider tidying away any bath toys or shampoo bottles in a smart storage basket.

‘It’s natural for clutter to creep in occasionally, so be sure to keep your beauty products neatly organised or stored away,’ Matthew says. ‘Don’t forget to keep your fixtures and accessories sparkling clean. Dedicate time each week to ensure your fixtures are spotless – not only is it hygienic but it will make the room look bigger and reduce maintenance issues occurring.’
